OUR JOURNEY
How does a family owned business that began with nothing more than a leased 1,500 square foot store, and a staff of family members survive for 25 years? Fabric Center offers low prices and works hard to provide for its customers needs. So how do they do it? When Ken and Joan Cahoon started Fabric Center in West Jordan in 1983, they developed a mission statement of how they would conduct business and use it to this day.
FABRIC CENTER Mission Statement
Fabric Center exists to serve the sewing needs of each of its customers, by providing the best selection, for the best price, with the most helpful staff available.
In 2001, Fabric Center moved to its current location. The move was an opportunity for the Cahoons to have their own building. With no more landlords, lease renewals or rent increases, they are now able to grow with the needs of their customers. Fabric Center has five times the original store size and now has many knowledgable employees - plus, very happy and devoted long time customers. The ownership and staff of Fabric Center have helped people who enjoy sewing, crafting and quilting and to create beautiful keepsakes and family heirlooms that will be enjoyed by generations. Peggy McDonald, manager, states:
"In today's society, people have a hard time finding the time to sew between work and kids. We encourage adults and children to take the time to learn. It can be a fun, creative and rewarding past time."
Every time you walk through Fabric Center doors, there is a smiling face ready to answer questions on a current project or offer new ideas. Employees are more like an experienced friend ready to help.
Speaking from experience, it doesn't really matter how you start out. If you provide your customers with value, service and quality products that they expect, they will keep coming back. Fabric Center went the extra mile to build friendships with their customers. Through honesty and integrity in its business, Fabric Center makes a special effort to meet the ever-changing needs of its cusomers. Values in business and exceptional customer service are the reasons Fabric Center has survived and prospered.
